It’s beginning to look a lot like…summertime!
Temperatures climbed in Nassau County on Thursday making it the warmest Christmas season on record. It was over 60 degrees, weather experts claimed, and it would remain this warm through the weekend. The mercury soared to 72 degrees in New York City which means the warm balmy weather was as hot as several days during June and July!
Nassau County residents did their holiday shopping in short sleeves, shorts and without jackets. “It’s so nice to leave my winter coat at home. It’s always annoying to carry a heavy coat around in the mall when I’m shopping for gifts” said one shopper. Joggers ran without fleece pullovers and moms pushed infants in their strollers throughout the neighborhood streets. One Dad commented “It’s a little weird, but I love this weather”!
