Lets hear it for the DUCK! The world’s largest rubber duck has arrived in Oyster Bay, Nassau County for the first time.
“Mama Duck,” as she’s known, is making a special guest appearance at the annual Oyster Festival 2015 in Oyster Bay, LI. The event runs from Saturday, Oct. 17, to Sunday, Oct. 18.
Weighing over 22,000 pounds and standing over 60+ feet tall, the giant yellow duck has taken over social media in every city she’s visited.
In Hong Kong’s harbor, back in 2015 the duck drew thousands of onlookers, who flooded social media with photos and selfies.
Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman’s, Mama Duck has been in harbors all over the world, including Amsterdam, Osaka, Sydney, São Paulo, Pittsburgh and now Oyster Bay, Long Island.
Mama Duck’s presence at the oyster festival is meant “to encourage visitors to conserve our natural resources and be aware of water safety.”
